Gaia Awaits You

Gaia, the Earth Goddess

I step from boat to island shore
and she waits for me,
her warm, soft breeze
caresses my cheek,
her lush, verdant scent
fetchingly whispers.

She seduces me.

A gleaming azure sky
calms my agitated mind,
her supple trees drape
the curving roadside,
a satin emerald cloak
befitting the Goddess.

She shimmers for me.

Brilliant sunlight dances
on a turquoise ocean,
waves glittering with diamonds
invite me to play,
graceful sea birds soaring above
call me to be free.

She shines for me.

Exotic languorous lizards
ancient as all time
meander lazily on my path,
scoffing at all clocks,
coaxing me to relax into her
warm, tranquil rhythm.

She soothes me.

Time slips away and
becomes meaningless here,
she feeds my soul
with her enduring grace,
her heart beats to mine
and mine becomes hers.

She saves me.

Thought Power

We tend to be careless with our thoughts, and yet we shouldn’t be. Our thoughts shape who we are and the lives we live. We are literally the products of our thoughts, both as individuals and as a collective.

Certainly right now society is caught in the web of an illness thought form – that basically we are an ill society. The challenge for us is this: How do we get to a place of wellness thinking?

Much of the answer to this, I believe, rests in our willingness to start taking charge of our thoughts, to have a sense of personal responsibility for our health, our own lives, and our well-being. Be self-observant of, and careful with, what is rattling around in your mind.

Dream or Reality?

Do you lucid dream? I do. Lucid dreams feel as real as “real life”. As a kid I had a recurring nightmare. It was terrifying, and each time I lived it, my fear controlled the outcome. Then one night I observed myself in the dream; I realized I was dreaming and did not have to be a victim in it. At that point my fear dissipated and I directed the dream for a different outcome. The nightmare stopped.

Now look around you at what is happening in the world. Be an objective observer. You have the power with your mind to effect the outcome, as long as you do not become a slave to someone else’s narrative about what reality is or “should be”. We can direct our reality, even when it appears that we cannot. This takes focus.

You Are Big

We live in a world where there are those who would do anything to make us believe we are small, our potential limited. Nothing could be further from the truth.

You are big.
You are part of everything.
Your potential is infinite.
Or, as Rumi so poetically put it,
“You are the universe in ecstatic motion.”

Real Life

Life is about so much more than just surviving. As of late, however, we are increasingly being conditioned to believe that is all that is important.

Personally, my concern is that the longer we drift from our hold on what really living life means, we will forget.

What does life mean to you? Do you take stock of what makes life feel fulfilling? Certainly our dreams, big and small, have taken a real beating this year. We must keep a firm grasp on those and not let them go. Our dreams are what shape our futures. And whatever anyone may tell you to the contrary, you have the right to live your dream.
