Your Magical Life

In the past year, does it feel like the magic, the joy, is disappearing from your life? I am certainly feeling that way. However, the good news I have for you is this:

You are like Dorothy and her ruby shoes in the Wizard of Oz. You are at your very core and essence a creator. The power to create your own best life has always existed within you. The challenge is to not let any external force convince you otherwise, especially right now when it feels like the dark in the world is on the rise.

You were born with a tremendous amount of personal power at your disposal. Your three most important internal tools are:

  1. Your mind (power of your thoughts)
  2. Your heart (expansive love connects you to the All)
  3. Your higher knowing (also known as your intuition)

What are you waiting for? You have the power to create and shape your destiny, to claim your joy, to live a magical life. “Carpe diem”, seize the day!

Inspirational Quotes:

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” ~ Roald Dahl

“We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already.” ~ J.K. Rowling

Believe in your heart that you’re meant to live a life full of passion, purpose, magic and miracles.” ~ Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” ~ W.B. Yeats

“Stories you read when you’re the right age never quite leave you. You may forget who wrote them or what the story was called. Sometimes you’ll forget precisely what happened, but if a story touches you it will stay with you, haunting the places in your mind that you rarely ever visit.” ~ Neil Gaiman

New Frontier Spirit

Famous explorers of old had the support of their kings and queens to discover new lands, fresh opportunities for growth and settlement, and expansion of old empires.

Ships, sailors, supplies, and shiny gold coins got the job done. Rumors of more riches to be had, as well as “primitive” cultures to be conquered, further fueled the desire of some power hungry leaders of the world at that time.

But for more common men and women who followed them into the New World, the reasons were different. A deep desire burned for a new life outside of their known society, to feel the wide open spaces where one’s spirit could breathe again, and explore the freedom of a more personal say in the course of one’s own destiny.

This was not an easy undertaking. It took courage, sacrifice, hard work, and diligence to build a new life in unknown territory.

Determination of the human spirit

History has a way of repeating itself. We see patterns of domination and control, followed by humanity’s uprising of spirit to find a way out, onward and upward. The human spirit has proven over and over again, it will never be defeated. Sometimes it gets lost, but in times of challenge it reveals itself once again, ready to blossom and flourish.

Our current experience is feeling limited in potential and tired in spirit. In short, it is old. The question to ask ourselves right now is “What is that next frontier we will explore?”

We will create that next new experience

As there is not much uncharted geographical territory left, perhaps the next new frontier is not one just fueled by spirit, but it will be one OF spirit, an expansion of our collective human consciousness.

It is time for us to develop that vision in our imaginations, creating and honing it with the fire of our deep desire. Then we need to muster courage to head out into the unknown and never look back.

The next New World will not simply be discovered, and we won’t need kings and queens to finance it.

We will create it.

Inspirational Quotes:

“Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you’ve never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground.”
~ Judith Thurman

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
~ Andre Gide

“We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknown river to explore.”
~ John Wesley Powell

“You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.”
~ Alan Watts

“And this I believe: that the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world. And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected.”
~ John Steinbeck, East of Eden

The Mass Dream

Look around you. Humanity’s mass dream at the moment is dominated by illness, control, limitation. And yet, we were born into a world that is fundamentally built on creation, joy, abundance, and expansiveness. Where did it all go wrong?

Our current collective dream lacks imagination. It is spoon fed to us via mass media, a slow drip of someone else’s thoughts and ideas, designed to shape society.

How do we get to a place of dreaming and manifesting beauty, abundance, wellness, all of those attributes we think of as being part of a good and fulfilling life? The answer to that is that we must imagine and create it ourselves. Waiting for some external authority figure to deliver it will be a very long wait.

Firstly, it is essential to decouple from the mass mainstream media and political agenda. We must clean house and make space in our minds for creative thought. The news we are ingesting constantly is TOXIC, it is not propagating positivity. Our minds are being programmed to believe in and help create a negative universe.

Start being self-aware of your thoughts. Be diligent. Clean your mind. Extricate yourself from the sludge. It’s a beginning…

Laughing Flowers

“The Earth laughs in flowers.” Wildflowers in a field, what a wonderful symbol of the joy of nature and the Earth! When I read Emerson’s words, I cannot help but smile inside. They lift my heart, for flowers are a precious gift. Their heady fragrances and gorgeous colors soothe our aching souls.

We need the healing power of nature now more than ever. The Earth is devoted and steadfast with her gifts. In a world that feels increasingly troubled, flowers help us reconnect to our inherent joyful soul center.

“Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” ~ A.A. Milne

“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
~ William Blake

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”
~ Pablo Neruda

“Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”
~ Rumi

“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation.”
~ Osho

“Normality is a paved road: It’s comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it.”
~ Vincent van Gogh

“If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night. All the stars are a-bloom with flowers…”
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Pinnacle of Spirit

Mighty Chimborazo! If you have never heard of it, Chimborazo is a dormant volcano, the highest mountain in Ecuador, and the highest peak near the equator. At 20,548 ft., its summit is the farthest point on the Earth’s surface from the Earth’s center. The indigenous in Ecuador have dubbed Chimborazo “Taita”, meaning father.

Chimborazo takes my breath away

Two years ago I was fortunate to visit Chimborazo National Park. A guide drove our little group about three-quarters of the way up the mountain to a rest station, at about 16,000 ft. We got out of the van to walk around, and we all experienced dizziness and shortness of breath with very little exertion.

I was quite frankly in awe of the power and majesty of this mountain, and also the fact that one of my friends had (on a whim!) climbed from base to summit some years ago. What an accomplishment! Our guide told us that this is one of the most dangerous mountains in the world and other climbers have perished attempting to conquer it.

The feeling of freedom

As I stood at our rest point and gazed upward to the summit, my spirit soared. I have experienced this at other spectacular nature spots in my travels. I was lost in the magnitude and grandeur of the space. In that moment, I was simply a human being connected to the Earth, unencumbered by what I am required to be in our civilization.

It was just the sky, Chimborazo, and me.

And my spirit felt free.
