Choose to Fly

“Why prefer to crawl?” from Rumi’s quote below reminds me of the crabs in a bucket
mentality. In short, this behavior is observed in crabs when they are trapped together in a bucket. They will pull any one who tries to climb out of the bucket back down into it, ensuring that no one succeeds.

Observing people’s behavior lately on social media, I would say there is quite a lot of crab mentality being displayed. It’s very sad to see; we really should be pulling together. Humanity has many problems to work through right now, and it seems we are intent on attacking each other more than cooperating to succeed.

When are we all going to decide to soar and thrive, together? We are so much better than this.

Adventure Call

Do you remember the last time you did anything that felt at least a little adventurous? I know, we are living through a time that is making us forget.

We must not forget. Our amazing souls did not come here to have one foot nailed to the ground and simply endure misery. Life is a challenge, yes. But it is also meant to feel joyful and feed our souls.

Laughing Flowers

Wildflowers in a field; what a wonderful symbol of the joy of nature and the Earth! When I read Emerson’s words, I cannot help but smile inside. They lift my heart. Flowers are a precious gift; their gorgeous fragrance and colors soothe our aching souls.

We need the healing power of nature now more than ever. Nature is steadfast with her gifts. She gives us the feeling that there is something we can always count on. We remember our joyful center.

Poetic Justice

This quote by the renowned writer, poet and philosopher Kahlil Gibran speaks to me deeply. I love trees. It seems to me that we strip the Earth so carelessly, without reverence for other life on the planet, as though it is ours just for the taking. We then turn around and feel this vast emptiness; life a times feels like it lacks meaning. It has no meaning when we do not feel reverence for it, the gift that all life is.

When humanity as a collective begins to truly cherish and respect all life on Earth, things will begin to change.

Love Lessons

How much love you have in your life, how much you express, it is all up to you. The wonderful thing about love is, the more you give it, the more it expands and comes right back to you.

Have the courage to love, in all kinds of ways, in every direction. Many of our most important life lessons are around love. Our hearts crave to love and be loved.

There are many wonderful quotes about love by the poet Rumi, here are just a few:

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

“Let yourself be drawn by the stronger pull of that which you truly love.”

“Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.”

“This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.”

“Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love.”

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”

“Reason is powerless in the expression of Love.”

“Gamble everything for love, if you’re a true human being.”

“Love calls – everywhere and always.
We’re sky bound.
Are you coming?”

“Love is the whole thing.
We are only pieces.”
