Cherish Life

Do you live each day of your life fully? We know we are mortal and life will sometime end, but we still tend to live as though we’ve been given an endless supply of days.

The seconds, minutes, and hours tick away relentlessly. If “no” is your answer to the question, you could make the decision right now to make the most of your life. Today is a good place to start.

Each day we are alive is a gift, and the present moment is the only certain one. There is beauty and sacredness to be found in every single day, when we choose to live that way. It’s the small things all around us all the time that give life its true magic.

It is crucially important that we live consciously and with intention, otherwise we end up living someone else’s idea of what our lives should be.

Wring every beautiful moment out of today that you can. Don’t miss out on anything that you could enjoy, embrace, love, or learn. Fully immerse yourself in life!

Remember What’s Real

Walk into this beautiful scene, just for a moment.
Feel the warm sun drenching your body.
Breathe deeply the sweet smell of green on the soft breeze.
Hear the gently trickling, soothing water.
Relax your muscles, and your mind. Go to that place in yourself, that soul center that is wild, free, and unencumbered by the constraints of this 3-dimensional world.
Remember the essence of you…

In indigenous cultures, the elders of the community are highly respected for their life-long accumulated knowledge. They are teachers in the community, and particularly of the children, so that the ways and tradition of reverence for the land will not be forgotten. Perhaps if we were to acknowledge indigenous wisdom more, we would be better able to solve our problems related to Earth and our natural environment.

After all, how can we solve these problems when we are feeling so separated from the land itself? I do not believe that corporations largely have the sort of caring that would lead towards a healing of Earth, or us, for that matter. At a grassroots level, we must take personal responsibility for ourselves and our Earth.

“In order for the land to take care of us, we must take care of the land.” There are many interesting videos to watch on this site: Wisdom of the Elders, Inc.

Inspirational Quotes:

“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.” ~ Henry David Thoreau

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature, the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” ~ Rachel Carson

“Not just beautiful, though – the stars are like the trees in the forest, alive and breathing. And they’re watching me.” ~ Haruki Murakami

“and when all the wars are over, a butterfly will still be beautiful.” ~ Ruskin Bond

Just Let Go & Fly

Do you have a stranglehold on life? Most of us do. Our stranglehold stems from our fears, our judgements, our need to be right, our focus on self. These place immense limitation on our growth and progress.

Life becomes very small and petty and when we dwell in this behavior. Living in such a troubled world has this tendency to drag us down, reducing us to little balls of worry and stress. We suffocate our own happiness when we succumb to it.

The challenge is to be brave enough to just let go of it all… and fly.

Inspirational Quotes:

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” ~ Oscar Wilde

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ~ Albert Einstein

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” ~ Mark Twain

“Love is the absence of judgment.” ~ Dalai Lama XIV

“Do one thing every day that scares you.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

“We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.” ~ Marilyn Monroe

“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart. ~ Roy T. Bennett,

Let’s Live & Let Live

We are experiencing massive friction in the world right now. Fighting between groups is rooted in a need for control, in an effort to make other people conform to a particular societal and global world view.

Why do some human beings have such a need to make others conform to their consensual reality?

In some cases, individuals are insecure within themselves. They have not worked on making their own inner landscape solid, so they are constantly looking for external validation that they are okay. Then there are the personalities that enjoy controlling others simply because they derive pleasure from power.

Every problem comes down to solving the root cause. Humanity as a collective will have a real chance of positive evolution when humans overcome their need for control and conformity. It begins with each of us.

Inspirational Quotes:

“I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.”
~ Rita Mae Brown

“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
~ J. Krishnamurti

“It’s weird not to be weird.” ~ John Lennon

“Any fool can make a rule and any fool will mind it.”
~ Henry David Thoreau

“Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.”
~ John F. Kennedy

The Search for Truth

The truth is the truth. Constant, consistent, it vibrates to the inner core of our being. We feel the truth. Like the straight arrow, the truth seeks its bullseye. It does not take a winding path to some ever shifting mark in the sand.

Truth has come into question of late. It eludes us. What is it? Where is it? Why should any one entity have the ultimate say in what the truth is, to mold the consensual reality as they see fit?

Sometimes there is no instant way to pinpoint the truth, but what we can do is be widely observant, noting the incongruities and idiosyncrasies, and listening to our intuitive voices along the way. We can feel a vibe in any situation, be it positive or negative, when we’re paying close attention. Logic and intuitive reasoning combined help us to know where to properly place our trust.

If you are not already doing so, it is time to listen to your inner truth. In rune stones, Teiwaz (the arrow symbol) represents the spiritual warrior. Spiritual warriors do not put blind faith in the consensual narrative. With patience and perseverance, they observe, analyze, and go inward to compile their own conclusion.

As Albert Einstein said, “Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth.” This is your call to start listening to your own inner voice and wisdom.

Inspirational Quotes:

“The truth is rarely pure and never simple.” ~ Oscar Wilde

“A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” ~ Mark Twain

“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world…would do this, it would change the Earth.” ~ William Faulkner

“Most men would rather deny a hard truth than face it.” ~ George R.R. Martin

“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” ~ C. S. Lewis
