Soul Mate

Eternal surprise,
all the hellos and goodbyes,
right there in your eyes.

“Our universe grants every soul a twin – a reflection of themselves -the kindred spirit – And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love.” ~ Julie Dillon

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.” ~ Elizabeth Gilbert

“I don’t know how you are so familiar to me – or why it feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you before—in another time, a different place, some other existence.” ~ Lang Leav

Crimson Reverie

Friends send word
that it’s a stellar
autumn back home,
punctuated with pics
of unimaginable
flushes of perfect
color, ringing against
deep blue skies,
nudging my heart
to impossible
yearnings…

For long luxurious
walks scented
by Nature’s turning,
the poignant musk of
her full fruition,
apricot and crimson
ablaze with sunlight,
her dazzling glow
embracing me,
bending my mood
and contemplation.

Whoever could feel
tired or defeated
on such days?

I felt naught
but goodness and
rightness on these
halcyon treks,
Nature teaching me
the natural way
of everything –
It is not death,
but a tender
“see you later”,
only to rise up
again, transformed
in sweet green,
bidding me “hello”,
begging me to
walk and talk
of possibilities,
plans, the rebirth
of everything,
including me.

But just for awhile,
how my heart longs
to stroll once again
‘neath that crimson.

Guru

I

Universe I want
what I want, right now! Stomp-stomp!
My cat snores softly.

II

Humans have not learned,
all good things take time, ya know?
P-u-r-r-f-e-c-t-l-y, I stretch.

Grace

May Grace shine on you,
smiling like the sun, lifting
your heavy heart light.

Today’s haiku was inspired by yesterday’s post by Wynne Leon, Does Loving-Kindness Actually Matter?  It’s well worth a read!

Melding

Everything fades to dust
eventually,
the wheels of progress turn
inevitably.

The elders of the tribe
woefully
remember times not lived
respectfully.

History keeps secrets
illicitly,
of the big lessons doled
heartlessly.

The past is only known
truthfully,
by the ones who lived it
successfully.

If young people listened
graciously,
to the old wisdom learned
painfully,

together they could build
splendidly,
a new vision that’s forged
lovingly.
