Nature Recharge

A cheeky little guy is this little frog. Or is the butterfly cheekier? Either way, the photo makes me smile. Nature is my solace and the place I go to recharge my spirit. I can hear my own thoughts and center myself away from the din of a crazy world.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday, and however you spend it I hope you are able to recharge your battery. These are stressful times and we must take good care of ourselves.

Happiness is the best medicine of all, so find some wherever you can.

Inspirational Quotes:

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”
~ Rachel Carson

“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”
~ Henry David Thoreau,

“The poetry of the earth is never dead.”
~ John Keats

“If we surrendered
to earth’s intelligence
we could rise up rooted, like trees.”
~ Rainer Maria Rilke

“The love of wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an expression of loyalty to the earth, the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only paradise we shall ever know, the only paradise we ever need, if only we had the eyes to see.”
~ Edward Abbey

It’s Your Journey

You are the captain of your destiny, but only if you choose to be. The matrix of society will try to shape your mind and your future, if you are not careful about the thoughts to which you subscribe.

Increasingly we are lead to believe that we are helpless victims of fate, that someone else should create our reality, that we have no wisdom or personal power to shape it. We are taught that the problems are too big for us to fix, so let an external authority take care of it.

Start to be more self-observant and analyze the messages being delivered to your mind daily. Do they make you feel personally empowered? Do you feel and believe they are leading you down a road where you could feel truly fulfilled and happy in your life?

The life you are living is a result of your thoughts. If the thoughts that dominate your mind and the reality you see before your eyes no longer resonate with your true desires, figuratively (or literally) pack your bag and set out to create the life you want.

This is YOUR life journey, no one else’s, so make sure it’s a road of your choosing.

Inspirational Quotes:

“If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there”
~ George Harrison

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
~ Mae West

“May you live every day of your life.”
~ Jonathan Swift

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life—to be happy—it’s all that matters.”
~ Audrey Hepburn

Claim Your Life

The past year I feel like I’ve been swept along against my will in a tidal wave of “fate”. The dictionary’s definition of fate: “The course of someone’s life, or the outcome of a particular situation for someone or something, seen as beyond their control.”

I’ve become oh-so-weary of the dire predictions, the unending negative narrative, the muddy mental pictures that our leaders and the mainstream media paint for our future. These people use the negativity to justify their positions and to sell newspapers that cater to the collective fear.

How about you? Claiming your life begins with paying attention to your mind, your thoughts, and your belief system – essentially, what you believe is possible for your life. More on these thoughts at these posts:

Be Like the Giraffe

As Oscar Wilde so humorously put it, “Be yourself, everyone else is taken.”

Society has this need to shape and mold us, to make us “acceptable”. Perhaps this has never been more strongly evident than it is in these times.

Becoming our most authentic selves, being fully true to ourselves, is sometimes a lifetime journey. But it does not have to be! We are not born with the masks that society encourages or demands that we wear. We learn to acquire them to get along and fit in.

This may make life feel easier in the short term, but in the long run is it really?

When you do not show who you really are to the world, there is an undercurrent of self-betrayal that you hold inside. Over a lifetime, this can become an unbearable burden.

Being true to yourself is one of the most important ways to fulfill your soul.

Look to nature as an example. There are no false face games being played there. Nature is authentic. No giraffe is wasting his life bemoaning his “too long neck”…

… or his “ugly freckles”, wishing he was a zebra with those marvelous stripes.

No, he’s just living his life, being the best giraffe he can be!

Polishing Your Mirror

Have you noticed the way that some experiences seem to repeat themselves in your life? You become irritated and perhaps even angry, wishing they would just “go away”. But here’s the rub…

When we resist our lessons, they simply come around again in another form. Learn it now or learn it later, it’s your choice. If you choose later, the lesson will likely be more extreme, until you just cannot ignore any more that it is something you are trying to learn.

When we become wise enough to see that life is not just “happening to us”, but that we attract the experiences and lessons we need to grow our souls, then it becomes somewhat smoother. The head bashing stops.

Observation and reflection are key to beginning to unlock and solve your life lessons.
