Shaping Our Destiny

There are things I regret in my life lived thus far, mistakes I must live with and learn from, and endeavor to do better next time. Such is life, and also the process of every soul’s learning. I do not want the most haunting question at the end of my life to be, “Who was I?” To not be able to answer this question would be very sad. To not really know one’s self by the end means a life spent skating along the surface.

To take this mental meandering to another level, if we keep going the way we are as a collective, will humanity end in a place where its last thought is, “Who were we?” That would be the saddest of all. A whole collective of human souls, realizing they gave up their personal power and never reached their potential, or worse, never even realizing they had it. Because right now who we are is a group of beings who are being held back tremendously by a matrix that wants to completely control and shape our future.

Perhaps as part of a greater humanity, it is time for each of us to really start questioning, “Who ARE we, and where are we headed? What future do WE want to create for ourselves?” I believe the creative answers that come to us from such questions can completely change the course of human destiny. How about you?

How Do I Love Thee Better?

Renowned romantic,
Romeo confessed his
love for fair Juliet,
impassioned locution
of sweet young love,
innocence unspoiled.

“How do I love thee?”

A query so complex
the Greeks declared,
“To best understand,
we must divide what
is immeasurable into
quantifiable boxes.

Ludus for flirting,
Eros for passion,
Pragma for partner,
Philia for friendship,
Storge for family,
Agape for humanity.”

A very worthy list
to be sure, and
though incomplete
does beg the question,
“With so much love,
who has time to hate?”

Eternal mystery,
our soul’s mission
often shrouded by
many false starts,
the next question
haunts us forever,

“How do I love thee better?”

Romeo, winking, says,
“You just have no fear!
Strive to love to the
depth, breadth, and height
your heart can reach.
True love is boundless.”

Leave It Richer

“”To leave the world richer – that is the ultimate success.”  At first glance, one might think that this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt means to leave the world having accumulated the maximum financial wealth we can. Service to self. After all, that’s how our society has trained us to think about success.

But no, take a moment to scroll and read the entire quote. Eleanor Roosevelt meant we should aspire to leave this world knowing we contributed something positive to it, that it’s a better place because we visited here for awhile.

Think of the world we would create if we all embraced that thought!

Dream a New Dream

Madness engulfs us,
teetering at the abyss,
we question it all,
the tightening noose
is choking our happiness,
how to thrive in this?

If this is a dream
it’s humanity’s nightmare,
we can choose to wake,
our souls are the gold,
don’t sell them for promises,
we have the free will.

The sky’s the limit,
our blue-sky imaginings
will seed our New Dream,
let’s breathe, take a step,
walk away from the madness,
and never look back.

Begin With Love

Love is the fundamental center of our universe. Hate and fear try to worm their way in and take over, time and time again. Experience says that when they do, the best of the human spirit tends to rise up and say “no”.

Do you desire to build a better world right now? Make a personal pledge to always begin from a place of love and the results will astonish you. The dark has no real tools to defeat love. Loving yourself enough not to hook into your own dark side is a very strong beginning. When we succumb to our own dark thoughts, we are letting the controllers of this world divide and beat us.
