Walk with Nature

I just came back from a walk at “my park”, and it’s such a gorgeous morning. Sun’s out, and everything feels shiny. I did not encounter a single robot on my walk! Imagine when we start seeing that. Or, perhaps we should be actively imagining that it never happens.

One of my favorite nature walks ever was a small group excursion around North Seymour Island, Galapagos Islands. It was mating season on North Seymour, and love was definitely in the air. This female frigate bird and her baby seemed to be smiling at me and the rest of the visitors. The bird with the inflated chest is a male frigate hoping to attract a female. His chest looks like a big heart, does it not? Very eye catching, but sneaky, as love likely won’t have much to do with it. 🙂

Speaking of love, for my story about an encounter with a blue-footed booby and her misplaced egg on that excursion, click here: A Little Love Story

Hope you have a great weekend, however you are spending it. 🙂 Try to reserve some time to spend in nature, even if it’s just a walk around the neighborhood park.

Your comment makes me smile, Ana. I’ve had other special encounters as well. I think we are only beginning to understand the invaluable connections we have with nature. It has a lot to teach us, but many people are turning their back on it in favor of AI. I feel sad about that. Thank you for reading. 🙂
